We are incredibly proud to play host to the first and only Tracy Anderson Studio in the UK. Read on, and discover how this globally-recognised fitness method can help revolutionise your wellbeing.

We are joined by Studio Manager Leigh Moss to find out more about the transformation that awaits..

Surrenne: What makes the Tracy Anderson Method so special?
Leigh Moss: At her core, Tracy Anderson is an innovator. 25 years ago, she created the Method, and with it a new language of movement was born. The Tracy Anderson Method is a fitness programme that emphasises small, repetitive movements which are specifically designed to target and tone muscles. A combination of dance-based cardio and muscle-toning routines, often incorporating light weights and bodyweight exercises sculpt the body and offer truly transformative results.

Surrenne: How does the Method tone and sculpt the body differently to other workouts?
Leigh Moss: Firstly, each TA Studio class has an ambient temperature of 95 degrees and a humidity of 70%, which primes the body for results. Tracy also conducted research early in her career on the power of strengthening the small accessory muscles to achieve strategic body design, and has carried that knowledge forward in creating her own genre of fitness.  A term we like to use to describe the workout is ‘primal movement’, meaning the choreography is formulated to explore how your body is naturally designed to move. Tracy was a pioneer in this world; she designed her programme to include new choreography every single week meaning there is a huge bank of movement content, personally curated by its creator, to draw upon.

Surrenne: How does the Tracy Anderson Methiod support fitness, in a holistic sense?
Leigh Moss: Tracy’s whole approach to movement and holistic wellbeing is about helping people to discover who they truly are. A strong connection between the mind and body is key, which is why all workouts focus on coordination and total body awareness. By strengthening these connections between the mind and the body, her choreography actively forges new pathways in the brain, enhancing neural plasticity. Tracy’s wellness philosophy also extends far beyond the realms of exercise; she advocates for a balanced and nourishing diet and meaningful self-care. Clients are encouraged to eat whole foods, avoid processed options and to prioritise their mental and emotional wellbeing, both on and off the mat.

Surrenne: Who do you think most benefits from joining a Tracy Anderson class?
Leigh Moss: Everyone. Regardless of experience or fitness level, if you are curious to discover a holistic approach that combines fun and targeted exercises, then the Tracy Anderson Method is for you.

Most Members join us with an eye to the physical benefits, but end up returning because of the incredible emotional release, mental clarity and profound peace the class can offer. Moving in time with your body’s natural rhythm is an empowering and invigorating feeling. Once you discover it for yourself, you will want to experience it time and time and again.

Surrenne: Why is the Tracy Anderson Studio at Surrenne so unique?
Leigh Moss: We are very proud of the fact that Surrenne Belgravia houses the only Tracy Anderson Studio in the UK, and the first one outside America. It’s truly a privilege to offer our Members this level of exclusivity, and we are passionate about welcoming new and returning guests to enjoy this dynamic dance-inspired class with its signature pumping soundtrack.
