Surrenne Club Etiquette

Surrenne is a private Members' Club. All facilities, including pool, sauna, gym, and steam room are for the exclusive use of Surrenne Members (and their guests) and hotel guests of The Emory and The Berkeley.

Surrenne is designed as a space for holistic wellbeing. We kindly ask that Members & Guests minimise their use of mobile devices wherever possible, keeping phones on silent. We encourage consideration of others when using mobile devices and to respect the privacy of all Members & Guests by refraining from taking photographs or videos in the Club.

We encourage any Members & Guests with questions over their health, injuries, or pregnancy to consult a doctor before visiting Surrenne. To protect others’ wellbeing, please do not visit the Club with the following: infectious/contagious illness or disease, open cuts or sores, abrasions, or minor infections.

Surrenne is home to a curated programme of pioneering fitness training. Services for Members may be delivered only by the Surrenne team, or pre-agreed third parties.

Surrenne café is an invitation to enjoy expertly balanced, carefully crafted menus. We ask that Members & Guests refrain from consuming food and beverage items (including alcohol) purchased externally. Please note that all fitness areas, swimming pool and changing spaces are glass-free.

Surrenne is a sanctuary, and we ask that Members & Guests preserve its tranquillity for all. We expect everyone to consider the impact of their behaviour within this environment, and will not tolerate loud, abusive or offensive language.

The use of illegal drugs is strictly forbidden at Surrenne, as is smoking. For the safety of all, anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry.

At the heart of Surrenne, the lap pool sets a serene scene for underwater meditation, immersive training, or stretching out in a waterside cabana. We kindly ask everyone to remove outdoor footwear before entering the pool area, and to shower before and after swimming. Members & Guests using the pool should wear appropriate swimming attire: trunks, swim shorts, swimming costumes or bikinis (a selection of swimwear is available for purchase at the Surrenne boutique).

Members & Guests are reminded that there is not a permanent lifeguard in the pool area. However, CCTV discreetly monitors the area for the safety of all – please follow the Swimming Pool Safety Code.

As with elsewhere within Surrenne, those under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs may not use the pool.

Private lockers are provided for Members’ & Guests’ personal possessions, whilst they are in the Club. However, please ensure that items are not left overnight as lockers are closed nightly for cleaning. Any personal items found here, or elsewhere across Surrenne will be considered as lost property. Please note that we are unable to accept liability for any items left in the changing areas or Club facilities.
